8 Ways to Reinvent Your Morning Routine

Mornings, while magical for some, can be quite a struggle for others. If yawning, a blaring alarm, and no sunlight sound like your morning, it’s time to refresh your routine.

Morning person or not, your mornings can set the tone of the entire day. When we wake up feeling extra stressed or tired it can be difficult to switch our energy and shake it off. So, how does one wake up feeling energized and ready for the day?

Waking up early is said to be the secret behind successful people, so try it out for yourself. We’ve rounded up our favorite morning routine ideas.

P.S. If your mornings really aren’t your forte. Learn how to become a morning person before you amp up your morning routine.

1.Wake Up Earlier

While sleeping in is amazing, early mornings are extremely underrated. An intentional early wake-up call can help you feel less stressed and rushed in the morning. Whether it’s 15 minutes or 1 hr before your normal wake-up time, this extra time in the morning can give you space to fill your routine with enjoyable activities.

This can give you time to start a habit from meditation to a hot shower to making breakfast, all of these activities start with having more time to do so.

Pro-tip: Try your hardest not to hit the snooze button on your alarm clock! When you sleep that 5 extra minutes, it may be doing more harm than good — making you feel groggier than before.

2. Open Up the Blinds

Waking up early isn’t as easy as it sounds. Open up those blinds or curtains and soak up the sun! Natural light can help wake up your body. When you are trying to sleep you want to avoid light (AKA your phone) because it can hold up your production of melatonin. Melatonin is your sleep hormone — something you need to snooze. The same logic applies to letting the sunshine in when you are trying to get up in the AM.

3. Set an Intention

Getting in the right mindset right off the bat can guide your entire day. This can be as simple as making small goals for yourself. For example, attempting to get outside today or cherish the small moments of your day more than usual. Setting these thoughts and intentions is more powerful than you may think.

4. Do Something You Love

Journaling, reading, exercising — even though we love some activities or hobbies they can easily fall to the bottom of our priority list. With a busy daily schedule, it can feel the days fly by! After a day full of work or school, our energy level can be too low to do anything else but lay on the couch. Time management can be hard so we don’t blame you for not having enough hours in the day.

Getting up and starting your day with something you love can help reel your hobby back to the top of your priority list.

5. Eat Breakfast

Many of us have gotten in the habit of running out the door with little to no food in our bodies. As much as we love a can of High Brew to kick off the day, it can’t work on its own. As cliche as it sounds breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. Any healthy morning routine must include breakfast.

Listen to your body. If you are hungry whip up the classic bacon egg and toast. If you usually skip breakfast, try to eat something light like a smoothie, green juice, or yogurt. You don’t want to run on an empty stomach.

6.Get Moving

Exercise is the perfect way to blow off some steam, plus it releases endorphins too. Sounds like a win-win! Customize your workout to something you actually enjoy doing and what you have time for. Whether it’s a bike ride, a yoga class, or a 20-minute walk around the neighborhood, starting off the day healthier will carry over to the rest of your day.

7. Listen to Music

Is your mind running non-stop? Listening to something you enjoy can help you get out of your head. If you work from home throw on some music while you get ready. For those who commute, listen to a podcast on the subway or an audiobook in the car. We promise it will make traffic a lot more enjoyable.

8. Fuel Up

Morning coffee is pretty crucial for any coffee lover’s daily routine. Our two cents: caffeinate wisely. High Brew is filled with amplified flavor and caffeine, without all the acidity of your average cup of coffee. High Brew coffee was designed to fuel you, helping you take on the day with intention and drive.
